International Public Financial Management Reform: Progress, Contradictions, And Challenges |
International public financial management reform; progress, contradictions, and challenges. Building on the analysis of an earlier volume, Global Warning (Olson et al., 1998), 12 papers presented by Guthrie (economics and business, U. of Sydney, Australia), Humphrey (Manchester Business School, U. of Manchester, UK),
Jones (Graduate School of Business and Public Policy, Naval Postgraduate School, US), and Olson (business administration, Goteborg U., Sweden) provide case studies of new public management and new public financial management reforms, hoping to prompt a greater level of debate over their role in public sector transformation. After an opening general analysis, examination of the reform experiences of Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States follows.
